Improving the lives of people affected by PSC

PSC Support is committed to establishing a pathway towards finding a cure or effective treatment for everyone with PSC.

Even though PSC was first described over 150 years ago in 1867, there is still no treatment to slow or stop the disease worsening or to reduce the risk of complications. Indeed, Professor Michael Manns, a leading PSC expert, named PSC ‘the last black box in hepatology’, and with good reason.

PSC Support invests in research that seeks to overcome the barriers that are slowing down progress by providing research grants to understand disease mechanisms, improve diagnosis, develop treatments and to improve the quality of life of people living with PSC. Our grants range from seed-funding awards to research training fellowships in PSC.
