Our Review Process: What Founders Can Expect
Introduction & Initial Triage
Once you reach out, we will ask you to share a deck and set up a call to help us conduct an initial triage to understand your company, technology and stage of development. This helps us determine whether your opportunity aligns with our investment priorities.
Expression of Interest
If your company fits our investment criteria we will invite you to submit an expression of interest form. This enables us to gather essential information to perform a meaningful early assessment.
The EOI is to be submitted a minimum of 12 weeks prior to the TSAC meeting.
Internal Review
Your EOI will be reviewed by our internal team. We may share initial questions to clarify key points. If the internal review is positive, we will request the following documents:
i. Last set of audited accounts
ii. Latest management accounts
iii. Business plan
iv. Details of the current funding round and any likely investors
v. Details of any pending funding applications
vi. CVs of the leadership team
vii. Cap table, including IP/equity arrangements or any university/charity licensing agreements.
These materials help us better understand your financial position, strategy and team structure.
We request that additional documents be submitted for review 10 weeks prior to TSAC meetings.
Expert Review
If recommended internally, your application will move to external expert review.
We will engage specialist independent reviewers relevant to your sector or technology alongside obtaining reviews by members of our Translational Scientific Advisory Committee (TSAC).
All feedback is shared with both you and the committee to ensure transparency and support your development.
Materials will be sent to reviewers 4-6 weeks prior to a TSAC meeting.
TSAC Presentation & Recommendation
If external reviewers are supportive, you will be invited to present at one of our quarterly investment committee meetings.
What to expect:
- A ~10 minute pitch
- 10-15 minutes of Q&A with the committee
The committee will have access in advance to:
- Your EOI
- Pitch Deck
- Business Plan
- A cover paper summarising the technology, finances, commercial strategy and clinical utility.
After the meeting:
- You will receive a short report outlining the decision of the Committee with feedback.
- In cases where the Committee recommends a conditional investment, you will be required to meet these conditions before proceeding.
- Following any approved investments by TSAC the Proven Connect team will begin negotiations on the terms of the investment.
- Only when the terms have been agreed will the PCR board be asked to approve the transfer of funds.
